Fair Play Award won in Norman conquest
ATYFC U11 Blue took a sixteen strong party (12 players and 4 adults) to play in the Isle of Wight Junior soccer tournament over the recent Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
The boys played nine games in total over the two days against Bishops Cannings FC, Brading Town Colts YFC, Newport Youth, Omonia Youth FC, Ryde Saints FC, Stevenage Schools, Cowes Youth FC, West Wight Youth FC and Gurnard Youth Blades. Unusually for tournament play these games were 9v9 and under full FA rules including offsides.
Town finished in 4th place and were the only team to remain unbeaten with 3 wins and 6 draws, including 7 clean sheets.
The boys should be very proud of themselves and their conduct both on and off the pitch was exemplary and this was rewarded with the Fair Play Award for their year group.
The team would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who travelled to the Isle of Wight to support them and also to sponsors Stitch-a-logo, Andover Ford, Re-design UK Ltd, BP Rolls Group and MOT Supercentre without whom the trip would not have been possible and also to the four adults who supervised them, Stuart Norman, Jason Horner, Craig Topham and Peter Askew.
