Oakley FC vs. Andover Town Youth FC Under 11 Whites

Leigh Williams Windows sponsored Andover Town Youth FC White U11 opened their season with an away trip to play Oakley FC. The match was their first game after the summer break and a number of match cancellations and featured some new players compared to the team that had finished the previous season.

Andover started brightly but soon found themselves 3-0 before Finlay Hewlett pulled a goal back for Andover. Man of the Match Harry Cable playing up front looked lively and was causing Oakley lots of problems in defence and so it was that Cable scored his first goal for Andover followed by a second to draw the two sides level at the half time break.

Andover started the second half in much the same way as the first but a few changes to the formation saw Andover pressure the Oakley defence for large periods of time. The Andover defence was solid with Aaron Longland deserving mention playing in his first match in defence for the team alongside Maxwell Bailey and James Reeks. In midfield Oliver Hartnell looked accomplished and was ably assisted by Jimmy Del Gesso and Finlay Hewlett. Jake Hardy was solid in the centre of midfield and formed a good pairing with Hartnell. Harry Cable and Freddie Randall were causing lots of problems for the Oakley defence and so it was that Cable added three further goals to his tally to take him to five goals in total in his first appearance for Andover.
