Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th May – End of Season Presentation Nights
Tickets for our two Presentation Nights taking place at The Lights are now on general sale and there are limited numbers left for each night. The last I heard (on April 13th) was that there were 65 seats left for the first night and 43 seats left for the second. These numbers will certainly have decreased in the last couple of weeks so if you wish to purchase tickets, please do so a.s.a.p. in order to avoid disappointment. As I’m sure you’re all aware by now, our Summer Tournament is taking place over the weekend of June 20th/21st. As is the case every year, we’re on the lookout for volunteers from our parental contingent to help us out with various things over the weekend. It could be something like helping out in the tea tent, manning a bouncy castle or even helping us clear up once the tournament has finished on Sunday afternoon. Any help that any of you can offer will be gratefully received and it will allow our coaches to concentrate of managing their teams rather than worrying about the overall running of the tournament. If any of you are willing to offer us assistance, please drop me a line. I’ll keep hold of your details and then get back in touch with you in due course.
This year’s Andover Carnival is taking place on Sunday 19th July and we will once again be entering a float in it, as we have done for the last couple of years. As with the tournament, we are looking for volunteers to help us design our carnival float and, most importantly, decorate it on the morning of the event. As things stand, I’m going to be the person who comes up with the basic design. However, I’m very much open to ideas. So, if any of you have any experience of working on carnival floats (or if you’re especially creative) and you fancy helping us out, please drop me a line. Our priority isn’t necessarily to win any prizes, though it would be nice if we did! Our main priority is to create a float that shows us off to the spectators and positively reflects the ethos of the Club. That is being well run, friendly and family-orientated. I’d like to get a team of people together a.s.a.p. who will be available to decorate the float on the morning of the carnival. That way, I can ensure that everyone has a good idea of what we’re trying to do on the day and make sure we’re all pulling in the same direction. I look forward to hearing from some of you soon (hopefully!). One final point regarding the carnival is that we are hoping to have our new Club Mascot available, so that he can walk the route alongside our float. This may well be his public debut!
Duck Race Winners
There are still a few winners from last month’s Duck Race event who have yet to receive their winnings. These people were winners of races that were organised by players or parents associated with Ant Perry’s and Stuart Young’s teams. The only time I have seen Ant and Stuart since the Duck Races was at our AGM earlier this month. I was intending to hand the prizes to them at the AGM, but unfortunately I forgot to take them with me. I’ll try to liaise with Ant and Stuart in the coming in order to give them the prizes, so that they can be forwarded on to the rightful recipients. To those of you who this affects, I’m very sorry for the delay!
